Max brings more than a decade of experience in the FinTech and information technology sectors. At Verimi, the European data, identity and payments platform, Max has successfully led multiple rounds of financing and was instrumental in obtaining Verimi’s Payment, AISP and PISP licenses as well as regulatory approval (KJM) for Verimi’s age verification functionality.

Previously, Max served as Partner at Hambach & Hambach where he advised leading providers of digital payment and financial services, BitCoin, international online gaming providers as well as German and EU regulatory authorities. Furthermore, Max was the first German to serve as Wagner Fellow at the NYU Pollack Center for Law & Business.

Max advised the German Federal Government’s Commission on Competition Law 4.0 (Kommission Wettbewerbsrecht 4.0) on antitrust regulation and platform economy. He publishes regularly in national and international law journals. He is co-author of the legal commentary, “Gambling and Gaming Law in the Media” and a speaker and moderator at international conferences. He is admitted to practice law in Germany and New York.
