Within this group, ETSI aims to ensure our existing work in this domain is recognized, especially our work in the oneM2M global initiative (www.onem2m.org), of which ETSI is a founding partner. oneM2M’s interoperability specifications for the Internet of Things are already used extensively in Smart City deployments, most notably in Korea. ETSI’s participation is coordinated by our Board and draws input from oneM2M and our SmartM2M technical committee.
This recognition highlights the international scope of ETSI’s work, and further demonstrates the value in seeking global consensus through initiatives such as oneM2M, which brings together eight regional standards bodies from across the world to develop a common set of specifications for the Internet of Things.
