Cubic Transportation Systems (Deutschland) GmbH, with a registered business address in Frankfurt, has expanded its system for mobile ticketing and delivered to RMV (Rhein-Main Verkehrsverbund) and also to the transport association of Karlsruhe (KVV) an iPhone application version. Apps are popular with iPhone users, and the new one developed by Cubic lets registered RMV or KVV users simply tap the logo of the transport association on the touch screen to open the application and off they go! Valid inspection of the ticket displays an encrypted 2-D barcode – a familiar feature for downloading airline boarding passes – when you touch-screen the ticket.
