PACE is a subset of the Supplemental Access Control security protocol, which protects sensitive biographical and biometric data stored in machine-readable travel documents (MRTDs) from unauthorized access due to skimming and eavesdropping for example. CAM extends the already established mapping procedure Generic Mapping by combining the PACE protocol with Chip Authentication (CA) into one protocol PACE-CAM. Combining the protocols saves time and allows a faster performance than using the protocols separately. CAM is patented by the German BSI. HJP is proud to be the first company to receive a license for Chip Authentication Mapping from the German BSI in order to allow our customers to test the latest features in terms of chip application security.
HJP’s test tool GlobalTester is the only open source conformity test tool to test the application layer and data layer of smart cards and readers and has been used by many customers worldwide. Together with partners, HJP offers test and certification services for eID documents and inspection systems. The latest development at HJP covers the area of Model-Based Testing (MBT), which features an automated, more accurate, comprehensive, more efficient and high-quality test process. With MBT, HJP integrates test automation frameworks as a basis for extensive testing conducted by our customers, since large and continuously growing test volumes cannot be handled manually.
